The Rating System!
I will be rating these books on a scale of 1-5 🎃. 🎃 being a very mild fright. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 being hold on to your nightie, this is going to hurt scary.
The Gathering (Shadow House #1) 🎃🎃A young adult horror story with an interactive app. This book was a little bit creep and had a great Halloween vibe.
The Daylight Gate 🎃🎃A historical fiction about the Pendle witch trials. More than a little spooky and a few really gruesome descriptions.
Needful Things by Stephen King 🎃🎃🎃Technically this book is a thriller but this book is full of moments that chilled me to the core. This book is gonna stay with me to years above.
Ring by Koji Suzuki 🎃🎃🎃
Now this to me wasn’t the scariest horror book but it certainly left an impression.
Pines by Blake Crouch 🎃🎃🎃
What would you do if one day you woke up, in hospital and no one believed you were who you said you were? And it just gets worse from there. Creepy and unsettling.
The Apartment by Anthony M. Strong 🎃🎃🎃🎃
This story, though short is packed full of creepy! Makes me never want to move into a new house.
Coraline by Neil Gaiman 🎃🎃🎃
The other mother scares me to death years after I first read the book. A story of a girl who finds a door to an alternative universe and my worst nightmare.
Penpal by Dathan Auerbach 🎃🎃🎃🎃
What the fuck was this book? If you like creepy pasta and not sleeping, this is for you.
Zombie Apocalypse! By Stephen Jones 🎃🎃🎃
Zombies are always a Halloween favourite and if you like books told in multiple media then you need to give this book a try.
There are many, many more but this is a good start. Let me know in the comments of you’d like more recommendations!
